According to The Third Pink Book, published in 1993, there was no visible support in Dominican society for gay and lesbian rights (1993, 275). On 27 February 2000 the Los Angeles Times reported that homosexuality was prohibited in Dominca, and intimated that there was little public support for gay rights.

No other references to the situation of homosexuals in Dominica could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
