Yemeni officials say seven men from Saudi Arabia were among Al-Qaeda militants killed in Yemen by a recent wave of U.S. drone strikes.
The officials say militants are increasingly crossing into Yemen from Saudi Arabia to transport Al-Qaeda funds or to seek terrorist training.
Yemen has been the focus of a global terrorist alert – with the United States, Britain, and Germany closing their diplomatic posts there on August 4.
Since July 27, drone attacks in Yemen's southern and central provinces have killed 34 suspected members of Yemen's Al-Qaeda branch, known as Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
Yemeni officials say a drone strike that recently killed suspected Pakistani bomb maker Ragaa Bin Ali shows that Al-Qaeda is also sending Pakistani explosives experts into Yemen.
