Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Ukrainian counterpart, Petro Poroshenko, held talks in Baku on July 14.

The visit is Poroshenko's first to Azerbaijan since he became president in 2014.

The two leaders are also due to sign several bilateral agreements on various political, economic, energy, and transport issues and preside over a session of the Council of the Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani presidential website said.

Poroshenko is also expected to meet with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade and the country's parliament speaker during his visit.

The Ukrainian president will later talk to members of Azerbaijan's small ethnic Ukrainian community.
