A Lithuanian court has jailed a former employee of the country's air traffic control service after finding him guilty of spying for neighboring Belarus.
The Vilnius district court sentenced Romualdas Lipskis to three years and three months in prison on November 5, ruling that the 57-year-old had provided information on Lithuania's military and strategically important companies to the Belarusian intelligence service.
Judge Audrius Cininas said the sentence was "close to the minimum" because the documents provided have practically no intelligence value."
Lipskis said he would appeal the verdict.
Belarus last year jailed two Belarusians to eight and 10 years for spying for Lithuania, an EU and NATO member.
