According to a 4 April 1998 letter e-mailed to the Research Directorate by one of Saudi Arabia's largest law firms, the Nader Law Offices, " a non-citizen born in Saudi Arabia cannot obtain Saudi Arabian citizenship unless his parents are unknown." The letter adds that "Saudi Arabia citizenship may also be given to the child whose mother is a Saudi and born in Saudi Arabia, provided that he has a capacity of permanent residence in Saudi Arabia, good conduct and behaviour, not being convicted and sentenced for more than six months, fluent in Arabic language and he must submit an application for citizenship one year after reaching the legal age."
