Summary: The author examines verdicts passed by the Military Court in Nis during 1994 for the crimes of failing to respond to a call-up notice and avoiding military service, and intentional absence and desertion from the armed forces. He analyzes the national composition of the condemned, the consequences of the sentences, and the purposes of punishment.
