Selon une représentante de l'Ambassade de l'Uruguay à Ottawa, en vertu d'un traité bilatéral entre l'Uruguay et l'Argentine, les citoyens uruguayens peuvent librement circuler entre ces deux pays et n'ont pas besoin de passeport pour visiter l'Argentine (21 avril 1992). Toutefois, ils doivent posséder une cedula de identidad (carte d'identité) (ibid.).
Le CDCISR ne possède, à l'heure actuelle, aucun renseignement supplémentaire sur ce sujet.
