YEREVAN – Hundreds of supporters of defeated Armenian presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian rallied in Yerevan again on March 5.

Hovannisian, a former foreign minister and leader of the Heritage party, has held rallies in Yerevan and regional towns over the past weeks.

Hovannisian has claimed that incumbent President Serzh Sarkisian won the February 18 election by fraud.

Hovannisian told his supporters that he plans to hold protests in Yerevan and 10 other cities this week.

According to official results, Sarkisian won with more than 58 percent of the vote, while Hovannisian came in second with nearly 37 percent.

On March 4, Hovannisian officially filed a request with the Constitutional Court to declare the official election results illegal.
