The attached 3 October 1991 Washington Post news article and the attached excerpts of Colette Braekman's book on Zaire entitled Le dinosaure: le Zaïre de Mobutu state that Cultures et Elevages du Zaïre (CELZA) is a conglomerate of 14 plantations owned by Zaire's president, Mobutu. Information on legal action taken against this company as a result of the discriminatory dismissal of employees in 1991, on government involvement in the procedure and on the employee's legal representation could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints.
