The EU will host new talks next week between the prime ministers of Serbia and Kosovo.
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini will meet Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovar Prime Minister Isa Mustafa on April 21 to "review the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached in the dialogue," according to an EU statement.
Serbia, which does not recognize the independence of Kosovo, signed an EU-brokered agreement in 2013 to normalize ties. Months later, the EU gave Serbia the green light to begin accession negotiations for EU membership.
More than 100 countries, including the United States and most EU nations, have recognized Kosovo's independence.
Russia, which has frendly ties with Serbia and holds veto power as a permanent UN Security Council member, has blocked the prospect of UN membership for Kosovo.
In the previous EU-mediated talks on February 10, the two leaders reached an agreement to establish an ethnically mixed court in Kosovo's northern city of Mitrovica, where a small ethnic Serb population lives.
