In a 31 October 1997 telephone interview with the Research Directorate, a researcher with the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights in Honduras (CODEH) stated that persons of Chinese ethnicity in Honduras do not generally experience great discrimination or harassment at the hands of the Honduran population, police and/or government officials.

In a 18 November 1997 letter, a representative with the National Commission of Human Rights (CONADEH) stated that there are no complaints registered in their database pertaining to reported cases of mistreatment, abuse or discrimination against ethnic Chinese living in Honduras. According to the representative, other institutions that he consulted had not received complaints either on this subject (ibid.).

A copy of the 1990/91 Naturalization Law of Asian Citizens could not be obtained by the Research Directorate.
