Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to receive the credentials of 20 incoming foreign ambassadors in Moscow.
Among the ambassadors to be recieved at the October 23 ceremony is Dutch envoy Ronald van Dartel, who takes up his post amid tensions between the two countries over Moscow's seizure of the Dutch-flagged Greenpeace vessel "Arctic Sunrise" last month and other contretemps.
A Russian diplomat was detained in The Hague earlier this month, and a Dutch diplomat was assaulted in Moscow a few days later.
Earlier this week, Putin spoke with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in a bid to calm the tensions.
Rutte confirmed that Dutch King Willem-Alexander will visit Moscow on November 8 for a ceremony marking the end of the reciprocal Year of Russia in the Netherlands and the Year of the Netherlands in Russia.
