In correspondence sent to the Research Directorate, the First Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of Guatemala in Ottawa stated that Cesar Antonio Mejia Castro of the Christian Democrary Party (DC) was the mayor of Cuyotenango from 1996-2000 and Jorge Reyes Ceballos of the Guatemalan Republican Front (FRG) replaced Castro as mayor in 2000 (3 Oct. 2002).

Information on the individual named in the Information Request could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
