Romania's ruling Social Democrat Party (PSD) revealed its proposed new government following last month's parliamentary elections.
Veteran lawmaker Viorel Stefan was nominated for the Finance Ministry portfolio, while Sevil Shhaideh was put forward as a deputy premier and development minister, PSD leader Liviu Dragnea said on December 3.
The lineup is expected to be rubber-stamped in a January 4 vote in parliament, where the PSD and its coalition party, the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats (ALDE), have an overall majority.
ALDE has four portfolios, including energy.
After his party triumphed in the December 11 elections, Social Democrat Sorin Grindeanu received a mandate from President Klaus Iohannis to lead the new cabinet that will replace the previous technocrat-led government.
Once the new government is approved, Grindeanu's first task will be to design a 2017 budget that will accommodate increases in state wages and a cut in the sales tax.
