Iran has staged military exercises near the strategic Strait of Hormuz that included an attack against a replica of a U.S. aircraft carrier.
The drills were conducted by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on February 25.
State television showed missiles fired from the coast and speedboats striking the mock U.S. warship.
The hard-line Fars news agency reported that the "model of an American aircraft carrier" was built to scale.
The drills also included planting undersea mines.
The Guard's chief commander, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, said the drills send a "message of [Iran's] might" to "extraterritorial powers."
In December, Iran's regular army carried out naval drills near the strait, through which one fifth of the world's oil passes.
Western navies also stage military exercises in the Persian Gulf.
