Information on the above subject is currently unavailable to the IRBDC. However, the following information may be noteworthy. Amnesty International Report 1992 states that Amnesty International:

expressed concern to the authorities [of Bangladesh] about the case of an asylum-seeker forcibly returned from Sweden in October 1990 [under the Ershad regime] (see Amnesty International Report 1991), who was tortured by security officials at Dhaka airport. The organization called for an investigation into the case, for those responsible to be brought to justice, and for urgent steps to be taken to protect all detainees from torture (1992, 65).
