Islamic State (IS) militants in Bangladesh have claimed responsibility for an attack on a Shi'ite mosque that killed one man and wounded three others.
A group calling itself Islamic State-Bangladesh said it attacked the mosque with machine guns.
At least five attackers fired on Shi'ite worshippers during evening prayers on November 26 at the mosque in the village of Haripur in the northern Bogra district of Bangladesh's Rajshahi Division.
A mosque official in his 70s who was leading the prayers was killed.
The mosque was built with funds from Iran.
Police on November 27 detained two men near the scene of the attack for questioning.
There has been a wave of deadly attacks in 2015 against foreigners, secular writers, and members of the Shi'ite community in the Sunni-majority country, raising concerns that religious extremism is growing in the traditionally moderate country.
