Hundreds of people took part in protests in the Macedonian capital, Skopje, on May 8.
Thousands of people have again taken to the streets in the small Balkan state of Macedonia to protest against alleged police brutality and corruption.
About 1,000 people marched through the capital, Skopje, late on May 8. Local media said smaller demonstrations were being held in eight other cities.
In Skopje, police blocked off streets leading to the main government building.
That was the site of violent clashes on May 5 during which 38 officers and one protester were injured.
The protests started on May 5, after opposition leader Zoran Zaev – citing illegally recorded conversations – accused the government of trying to cover up the 2011 police killing of a 22-year-old man.
Zaev has accused Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski of tapping the phones of 20,000 people, including police, judges and journalists.
Gruevski denies any wrongdoing.
