Amnesty International's 1996 Annual Report states that eight Sahraoui youths... were arrested in May 1995 following a peaceful pro-independence demonstration in Laayoune, Western Sahara (1996, 28). The youths were accused of participating in a demonstration in support of the ... Polisario Front, carrying Polisario Flags and Leaflets, and calling for the independence of Western Sahara. They were sentenced by a military Court in June to between 15 and 20 years' imprisonment on charges of threatening the external security and territorial integrity of Morocco (ibid.)

The attached document from the Association de soutien à un référendum libre et régulier au Sahara Occidental (ARSO) provides the testimony of a former Polisario Front fighter on the time he spent in Moroccan prisons and forced labour camps.
