No information on the Citizenship Investment Program nor on whether the government of Nauru grants expedited citizenship for a fee could be found among the sources consulted.

However, The Pacific Islands Business Network states on its Website that:

Nauru has never had a specific foreign investment policy, mainly as a result of its economic situation and because of the limited space available for development.

The Government, therefore, has never actively encouraged foreign investment and offers no incentives as such for investors. It does, however, operate a financial center which allows international companies to register there for tax planning purposes. Laws and regulations have been designed to promote the further development of this center (n.d.).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
