The president of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan is in the Czech Republic to discuss the development of bilateral ties and economic cooperation.

President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Czech Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kuba in Prague on April 15.

Minnikhanov told a business forum in the Czech capital that the two sides can cooperate in areas such as industry, medicine, information technology, and sports and tourism.

Both sides said they are interested in increasing the number of direct flights between Prague and Kazan, Tatarstan's capital.
