According to a representative of the Iranian Association of Toronto, the Central Military Police (dejban-e padeghan-e markaz) of the Iranian Armed Forces is in charge of protecting military installations in Tehran (12 Sept. 1995). It is also responsible for disciplinary matters of military personnel inside and outside (to the extent that falls within the jurisdiction of the military) military installations in Tehran (ibid.).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
