Two Gaza City high-rises have been destroyed by Israeli bombs as Palestinian rockets continued to be fired into Israel.

People fled the 15- and 16-story buildings on August 26 after Israel sent warnings about the attack. Israeli officials said militants had offices in the buildings.

Palestinian officials said two people have been killed and about 25 wounded during the 15 reported air strikes by Israeli planes and drones overnight.

Meanwhile, Israel said eight rockets were launched from Gaza into Israeli territory, with one damaging a home and slightly injuring several people.

The strikes in the seven weeks of fighting came as Egypt urged Israel and Hamas to resume indirect talks on a permanent cease-fire.

The fighting has killed at least 2,133 Palestinians and wounded more than 11,000, while 68 people have been killed on the Israeli side.
