No mention of the Youth Development Association (YDA) could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, there is mention of a Rubaga Youth Development Association (RYDA) (n.d.) located in Kampala (The Monitor n.d).
According to information posted on the the RYDA website,
RYDA is a non-government organisation founded in 1992 by Geoffrey Steven Kyeyune-the executive director and a renown social worker ... RYAD was founded to promote the position of the poor disadvantaged people through assisting them to increase their socio-economic independence. The organisation pays special attention to the youth, women and disadvantaged rural-urban children.
RYDA runs programmes in Training, Social and Educational Training and Social Work. Within these programmes, health, income generation workshops and seminars, food, security, water and sanitation among other activities, are addressed (ibid.).
