A reputed Russian crime boss has been sentenced to nine years in prison by a court in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk.
The Krasnoyarsk Regional Court on April 27 convicted 52-year-old Vilor Struganov of organizing four murders and sentenced him the same day.
Struganov, widely known by the underworld nickname Pasha Tsvetomuzyka, pleaded not guilty and vowed an appeal.
Two co-defendants were found guilty of murder and sentenced to eight and 10 years in jail.
Struganov was arrested in Moscow in March 2014 and charged with involvement in the killings of six businessmen and officials linked to the aluminum production business in Siberia in the 1990s.
Struganov was once a partner of Anatoly Bykov, who was director of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant in the 1990s.
In 2002, Bykov was found guilty of attempting to have Struganov killed and received a suspended sentence.
