Negotiators are meeting in Vienna for the second and final day in the latest round of talks aimed at resolving the Transdniester conflict.

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Ukraine, and Russia are mediating the talks between officials from Moldova and its breakaway region of Transdniester.

The so-called 5+2 format includes the United States and the European Union as observers.

Transdniester declared independence from Moldova in 1990.

The two sides fought a brief war in 1992 that ended when the Russian military intervened on the side of Transdniester.

However, Transdniester's independence has not been recognized by Russia nor any other country.
