In correspondence with the Research Directorate dated 5 January 2005, a representative of the Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) in Santo Domingo indicated that there were no flights from Istanbul, Turkey to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 16 July 2004 to 30 July 2004 (5 Jan. 2006a). According to a representative of Aerodom in the Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, there are no direct flights linking Istanbul and Puerto Plata (Aerodom 5 Jan. 2006b; ibid. 7 Jan. 2006). A representative from Aerodom confirmed in correspondence to the Research Directorate that there were no flights from Istanbul to Puerto Plata from 16 July 2004 to 30 July 2004 (7 Jan. 2006). Aerodom is a consortium that "manages six airports in the Dominican Republic, including Las Américas International Airport in the capital city of Santo Domingo, and Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata" (IFC n.d.).

No information on regularly scheduled or charter flights out of Istanbul to other cities in the Dominican Republic could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

According to a representative of Aerodom the schedule of the flights that left Santo Domingo for Miami International Airport on 24 July 2004 and 25 July 2005 was as follows:

In correspondence to the Research Directorate dated 7 January and 13 January 2005, a representative of Aerodom indicated that the schedule of the flights that left Puerto Plata for Miami International Airport on 24 July 2004 and 25 July 2005 was as follows:

The representative also noted that the trip from Dominican Republic to Miami takes approximately one hour and forty-five minutes (Aerodom 13 Jan. 2005).
