The U.S.-led coalition targeting the Islamic State (IS) group in Syria and Iraq has carried out 22 new air strikes in the past 24 hours.
The U.S. military said in a statement on September 25 that 21 of the strikes were aimed at targets in Iraq, including nine strikes near the IS-held cities of Mosul and Ramadi.
The coalition said it struck Islamic State fighters, weapons caches, and other targets in the aerial attacks.
It said one strike in Syria hit an IS crude oil collection point near Dayr Al-Zawr.
The coalition has been carrying out air strikes against IS positions since last year in an effort to support Iraqi forces fighting to dislodge the Sunni extremist group from the areas of northern and western Iraq that it controls as well as IS positions in eastern Syria.
