In a telephone interview on 1 December 1995, an official of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Washington stated that the 1991 Alternative Service Act of the Republic of Moldova remains operative. The official did not know whether there have been changes or amendments to this Act, nor could this information be found among the other sources consulted by the DIRB.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints.
