Tehran says it will speed up operations to arm Palestinians in the West Bank in retaliation for Israel allegedly deploying a spy drone over Iran.

Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of aerospace forces of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards said: "We will accelerate the arming of the West Bank and we reserve the right to give any response."

Hajizadeh's comments were posted on the Guards' website on August 25.

The warning came a day after Tehran claimed the Guards had brought down an Israeli spy drone above the Natanz uranium enrichment site, some 240 kilometers south of the capital.

Iran's state television aired footage that purportedly showed the drone after it was shot down on August 23.

Israel has not commented on the matter.
