YEREVAN – Hundreds of private vendors in Armenia have rallied in Yerevan, demanding thorough investigations into the beating of their colleague, Artak Khachatrian.

The protesters marched from the government building in Yerevan to the headquarters of Armenia's Investigative Committee on February 9, demanding justice for Khachatrian.

On February 7, three unknown armed masked men attacked Khachatrian near a trade center in Yerevan, abducted him and severely beat him.

Khachatrian was found several hours later unconscious in his own home in Yerevan. Doctors had to perform surgery on his nose.

Khachatrian has actively participated in a last month large-scale campaign against a new taxation law.
