The driver of the car, a Volkswagen Polo, died in the accident.
A van transporting radioactive material iridium-192 has collided with a passenger car near the town of Modrica in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The driver of the car, a Volkswagen Polo, died in the March 13 accident.
Police blocked off the area in order for Bosnia's agency in charge of nuclear safety to measure radiation levels at the site.
Local media reports say that the van was from Prijedor in Bosnia's Serbian entity, Republika Srpska, and was transporting a device containing radioactive material.
Officials at Modrica's Civil Defense assured locals that the iridium isotope was in a solid state and there was "no danger of radiation so far."
The director of Bosnia's Regulatory Agency for Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Emir Dizdarevic, said that the site was checked and no leakage from the container had been registered.
