Officials in Bangladesh say the death toll from a factory's collapse on April 25 is at least 190, and they warn the figure could rise as there are still people buried in the rubble.
Bangladesh's "Daily Star" newspaper reported on April 25 that some 1,000 people were injured when the building near Dhaka, which housed many garment factories, collapsed.
General Mohammad Siddiqui Alam Shikder who is leading rescue efforts at the scene said crews were boring holes through the roof to gain entry to the fallen structure.
Shikder said it would be afternoon at least before he had a clearer picture of the extent of the damage and a better estimate of the casualty figures.
The collapse of the factory came less than five months after a garment factory fire in Bangladesh killed 112 people.
