Turkish authorities say they have detained 13 women from former Soviet republics on suspicion of prostitution.
Turkish media reports said on April 24 that 11 of the women were from Kyrgyzstan, one was from Georgia, and one from Uzbekistan.
One of the detained women, whose identity was not disclosed, said the women's passports were confiscated by criminals who forced them to be prostitutes.
The 13 women were detained in Turkey's southwestern city of Bodrum during a raid by authorities.
One man from Bodrum also was detained on suspicion of organizing a prostitution ring.
The women were later transferred to the custody of immigration officials in Turkey who have started a deportation process against them.
Turkish police say investigations have begun into organized prostitution rings and allegations that foreign women are being forced into prostitution against their will.
