Apart from a brief note on the appointment of a new Republican Prosecutor-General (RFE 25 Oct. 1991, 33), there is no information currently available to the IRBDC specific to due process or the justice system in Belorussia. However, please find attached an excerpt from a Helsinki Watch report on due process, detention, and the judicial system in the Soviet Union. Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1990, Critique 1990, and Amnesty International's Annual Report 1990 also provide general information on due process and the justice system in the Soviet Union. These documents are available at your Regional Documentation Centre.
