A significant amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives have been found in several trash containers in Azerbaijan's capital.

The Baku City Police said officers discovered the material on January 17, after someone reported an explosive device in a trash container.

Police later found more than 130 military grenades, a six-barrel grenade launcher, 24 AK-47 assault rifles, two sniper rifles, an RPK machine gun, a hunting rifle, and a huge amount of ammunition, including an anti-tank shell, in several nearby trash containers.

The area has been cordoned off by police as investigators are working at the scene.
