Moldovans are voting in runoffs for local elections which are considered a test of whether the country is committed to European integration or will seek closer ties with Russia.
In the first round of voting held on June 14, pro-European parties won outright in 348 cities, towns, and villages, while pro-Russian parties won in 56 others, and independent candidates in 34.
The vote is being held on June 28 in 458 other places where no candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote.
In the capital, Chisinau, incumbent Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca is facing his pro-Russian party opponent Zinaida Greceanai.
Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman was appointed interim prime minister on June 22 after Chiril Gaburici resigned from the prime minister post amid a probe into his high school and college diplomas.
