An explosive device thrown at antigovernment protesters in the Thai capital has injured more than 30 people.
The incident occurred as a march led by a leading government critic, Suthep Thaugsuban, was passing near a downtown university.
Suthpe was some 30 meters from where the explosion occurred and was not hurt.
It was not immediately clear who threw the explosive device, but it is certain to raise tensions in the country's political crisis that has already lasted months.
Protesters are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, accused of being corrupt and a puppet of her brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted by the military in 2006 amid charges of corruption.
