Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement

The Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement (ATCR) event is the most important multilateral forum for UNHCR, States, the private sector, academia, NGOs and refugees to discuss and advance resettlement issues of common interest.

It allows for open and frank dialogue and strives to produce positive outcomes by forging collaborative approaches to global resettlement.

Since 1995, this annual event has provided an opportunity to address a wide range of policy and procedural matters, including advocacy, capacity building and operational support.

An important outcome of the ATCR is the continued promotion and development of new and innovative ways to solve problems and combine resources to improve resettlement and complementary pathways for refugees.

2023 ATCR

The 2023 ATCR will be chaired by the Government of Ireland, represented by the Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP) in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and co-chaired by Nasc Ireland

The overarching theme for the ATCR 2023 is "Learning in crisis: Building solutions together".

The event will continue to involve government representatives from resettlement States, NGOs, refugees, academia, intergovernmental and international organizations and UNHCR.

Refugee Advisory Group to the ATCR

Established in 2020, the Refugee Advisory Group (RAG) is the official body of refugee representatives at the ATCR. They play an advisory role in the ATCR planning cycle and promote meaningful refugee participation in decision-making processes.
