German Chancellor Angela Merkel has urged countries that imposed sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program to maintain a unified approach in lifting the sanctions.
Merkel's comments on April 14 follow Russia's announcement that it will deliver S-300 missile systems to Iran.
"I urge people to lift those sanctions together, as far as possible," Merkel said after being asked about Russia's decision, adding that Iran and the P5+1 had a lot of work to do in order to finalize the nuclear deal.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on April 13 lifting the five-year-old ban on supplies of the high-precision missiles to Iran.
While Tehran welcomed the move, the United States and Israel condemned it.
On April 13 Israeli Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz referred to Russia's decision as proof of Iran's newfound "legitimacy" after the nuclear talks.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced on April 14 that Iran will commit to irreversible steps regarding the nuclear program if matched by the West.
