All the property and weapons of Ukraine armed forces units in Crimea are to become the property of the Republic of Crimea, according to instructions issued by the self-proclaimed prime minister, Sergei Aksyonov.

According to the Kryminform news agency, Aksyonov decreed that "property including military hardware and weapons in use or managed by Ukrainian armed forces formations and units, as well as enterprises, institutions and organisations run by the Ukrainian defence ministry… and located on the territory of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are the state property of the Republic of Crimea."

Vladimir Mertsalov, an advisor to Aksyonov, has been tasked with making an inventory of property held by Ukrainian military units.

The self-declared authorities in Crimea have announced that all Ukrainian state property there is to be nationalised. The Chernomorneftegaz concern and other key economic assets have already been seized.

Not one Ukrainian military unit in Crimea has agreed to betray its oath of loyalty so far.
