Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned against escalating the North Korea crisis with military maneuvers, but added that Moscow and Washington had "no differences" over the situation.
Speaking to journalists as he met with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in London, Lavrov said, "One just shouldn't scare anyone with military maneuvers and there's a chance that everything will calm down."
Lavrov and Kerry held talks ahead of a G8 ministerial meeting.
Earlier on April 10, South Korea and the United States reportedly raised their joint military surveillance alert level, amid indications that North Korea could be preparing for a missile test.
Reports quoted South Korean and U.S. officials as saying North Korea may have readied at least two medium-range missiles for launch.
