According to a representative of Middle East in New York, Kuwait is asking other countries such as Jordan and Egypt to return foreign nationals to Kuwait to be tried for alleged offences relating to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait (5 October 1992). The representative added that Kuwait has called on Interpol to help track down alleged war criminals.
According to an article in the Los Angeles Times of 16 June 1991, a Justice Ministry official indicated that Kuwait would seek extradition of Ahmed Fouad Hussaini from Egypt. Ahmed Fouad Hussaini was convicted and sentenced to death in absentia (Ibid., 16 June 1991).
