Are Molokan Christians from the Stavropol area allowed to do alternative service or are they required to do military service as a result of the conflict in Chechnya? 3. Are Christian conscientious objectors generally being allowed to do alternative service? 3. What are the typical alternatives available? 4. What are the views of the main human rights groups about the implementation of the new law? 5. Please provide evidence as to the possible treatment by fellow soldiers of conscripts who are Orthodox Christian, have a Jewish background or have lived abroad and have poor Russian language ability. Is it any worse than that of other conscripts?
