The General Assembly, Noting that the Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research will shortly be relinquishing his duties, Recognizing the contribution made by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research under his guidance, through training and research, towards the achievement of the major objectives of the United Nations, in particular the maintenance of peace and security and the promotion of economic and social development,
1. Expresses its sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Davidson Nicol for the effective and dedicated manner in which he has performed his functions as Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research;
2. Extends its good wishes to him for success in his future undertakings.
