U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton meets with Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Sa'id in Muscat.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has held talks with Oman's Sultan Qaboos in the capital Muscat on bilateral cooperation and regional issues.
Speaking to reporters earlier, U.S. officials had said Clinton will thank Qaboos for his role in securing the release of three American hikers detained in Iran.
The officials said Clinton was also expected to discuss Iran, including an alleged Iranian plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the United States, something Iran's leadership vehemently denies.
Clinton arrived in Muscat on October 19 after visiting Libya, where she pledged continuing support for the nation's new leaders.
