Current information on whether Singapore recognizes and/or permits dual citizenship could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

However, Articles 122(2) ("Citizenship by Descent"), 128(1) ("Renunciation of citizenship"), and 134(1)(a) ("Deprivation of citizenship on acquisition of foreign citizenship") of the Constitution of Singapore, which went into force in 1963, may be of assistance. These articles of the Constitution of Singapore can be accessed at all Regional Documentation Centres via SHARENet/REFWORLD/legal/REFLEG/Singapore.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints.
