Please find attached a copy of the Articles defining Spanish nationality in the Constitution of Honduras, as published in Constitutions of the Countries of the World (Blaustein & Flanz 1991, 45).

In addition to this information, a staff member of the Embassy of Spain in Ottawa indicated that, according to a new law passed in 1990, Spain does not recognize dual or multiple nationality (27 Apr. 1992). The source added that children born of a Spanish father outside Spain have the right to acquire Spanish nationality if the father is registered with a Spanish diplomatic mission (Ibid.). Registration with a Spanish diplomatic mission is usually sought for the purpose of renewing the Spanish passport which, since 1990, is valid for five years for Spaniards under 30 years of age and for 10 years for those 30 years of age and over (Ibid.). In order to be able to acquire Spanish nationality, the child must also be registered at a Spanish diplomatic mission before reaching adulthood (Ibid.).

Additional and/or corroborating information could not be found among the sources currently available to the IRBDC.
