Russian President Vladimir Putin is due on October 22 to chair a session of the presidential Council on Interethnic Relations in Ufa, the capital of Russia's mainly Muslim Republic of Bashkortostan.
The presidential press service said that Putin would discuss the implementation of national policy on interethnic relations in Russia's regions and the issue of the integration of labor migrants into Russian society.
Putin is also scheduled to meet with muftis to discuss interactions between the state and Muslim religious organizations and to mark the 225th anniversary of the founding of Russia's Central Spiritual Council of Muslims.
The gathering in Ufa is being held amid renewed ethnic tensions across Russia triggered by the killing earlier this month of a young Muscovite, allegedly by a migrant worker from the Caucasus.
The incident was followed by violent antimigrant rioting in Moscow.
