Tajik President Emomali Rahmon
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has promoted family members to top posts in the Foreign Ministry.
Rahmon's daughter, Ozoda Rahmon, was moved from deputy foreign minister to first deputy foreign minister.
Meanwhile, Rahmon's son-in-law, Ashraf Gulov, became Tajikistan's consul-general to the Russian Federation.
The appointments were made on May 15.
Rahmon also replaced Tajikistan's ambassadors to Egypt, Germany, and the United States.
Last week, Rahmon appointed a nephew, Sirojiddin Gulmurodov, to the post of Tax Service chief in his native Khatlon Province in the country's south.
Rahmon's other son-in-law, Jamoliddin Nuraliev, has been serving as the first deputy finance minister for many years.
The president's eldest son, Rustam Emomali, was appointed chief of Tajikistan's Customs Service at the end of last year.
